There’s no better way to understand the impact of Bioversity’s workforce training programs than to hear directly from our graduates.

Bioversity helped me build both the skills and the confidence I needed for my role as a Molecular Lab Assistant. The program didn’t just teach me lab theory, it taught me how to actually work in a lab. Every technique, every protocol, every hands-on practice session prepared me for what I’m doing now. They pushed me, they challenged me, and they made sure I understood not just the “how,” but the “why.” By the time I finished, I didn’t just feel ready, I knew I belonged in this field.

The advice I would give to someone joining Bioversity is to join with a fresh mind and to try to find motivation in everything that Bioversity has to offer. I would also say to really take advantage of the tools that Bioversity offers because if you stay on this career path, there will absolutely come a time when you will capitalize on those same tools.”

What excites me the most about my new career is that I finally found a job that I not only enjoy doing and that I am good at, but it is also incredibly meaningful and helps improve the lives of the people around us. I enjoy it so much that I don’t mind the sometimes tough commute through Cambridge.

Since completing the program, I was able to give up my other two jobs and have some more time to spend with my family — something which was lacking previously.

Rashaan was born and raised in Boston. With over a decade of experience in hospitality and customer service and a long-standing passion for math and science, he had been looking at opportunities to enter the life sciences industry, but was not having any luck getting interviews. He found Bioversity through a family friend. He graduated in March 2024 and has been in his role at Unity Lab Services, a Thermo Fisher Scientific division, since May 2024.
