Our Programs
Biotech Career Foundations
Biotech Career Foundations is Bioversity’s flagship workforce training program — a free, eight-week certificate training program that prepares adults for entry-level jobs in life sciences and biotech industry, including lab operations, biomanufacturing, supply chain, and facilities support. The program runs at two locations in Massachusetts and accepts applications on a rolling basis.
Program details:
- Length: 8 weeks
- Cost: Free
- Stipend: Generous weekly stipends provided to each student
- Locations: Dorchester (Boston) and Lowell, MA
- Degree required: Only a high school diploma or GED – no college degree required
- Timing: New cohorts start every 10 -12 weeks in each location
- Schedule: All classes are in-person, Monday – Thursday, 9:30 AM – 3:30 PM.
Graduates are prepared for immediate employment and receive career coaching and individualized job placement support. Of our 135 graduates so far, 80%+ of them have been placed into life sciences jobs.

Bioversity students come from diverse backgrounds — retail, hospitality, customer service, healthcare support, and more. What they share is a desire for meaningful, long-term career change.
You’re an ideal candidate if you:
- Are 18 or older
- Have a high school diploma or GED
- Are currently unemployed or underemployed
- Are from a low-income household
- Are authorized to work in the United States
- Are ready to commit fully to an eight-week program
No prior science experience is necessary. Many of our graduates had never worked in a lab before completing the program.

What Happens After You Graduate?
Bioversity doesn’t just train you — we connect you. Our team works directly with hiring managers at life sciences companies across Massachusetts to match graduates with open roles. More than 80% of Bioversity graduates have been placed in employment, with starting wages averaging $27 per hour plus comprehensive benefits. Employer partners include Thermo Fisher Scientific, Flagship Lab Services, Moderna, Foundation Medicine, BMS, Vertex, Boston Lab Services, and Venture Forward Lab Partners.
Where Do the Trainings Take Place?
Biotech Career Foundations runs at two dedicated training facilities in Massachusetts:
Boston (Dorchester) — In partnership with MCPHS, serving Greater Boston residents, including those from Boston, Norwood, Quincy, Chelsea, Brockton, and surrounding communities.
Lowell, Massachusetts — In partnership with UMass Lowell, serving Greater Lowell residents, including those from Lowell, Lawrence, Haverhill, and the Merrimack Valley.
