Our Mission

Bioversity blazes training pathways and creates employer connections for underrepresented populations and individuals traditionally left out of life sciences careers, quickly propelling them into well-paying jobs and lifelong careers. We aspire to an equitable life sciences industry that reflects the patient communities it serves and delivers career opportunities to all who want them.

About Us

Bioversity Inc. is a Boston-based nonprofit workforce development organization founded in 2023 as a spinout of MassBio, the Massachusetts life sciences industry association. We train un- and underemployed adults, primarily those without four-year college degrees, for entry-level careers in the life sciences. Our programs are free, stipend-supported, and designed in direct collaboration with life sciences employers.

Since launching, Bioversity has graduated more than 135 people across 14+ cohorts, achieved an 81% job placement rate, and connected graduates to jobs averaging $27 per hour with comprehensive benefits across at 375+ employers in Massachusetts.

We are a Massachusetts 501(c)(3) nonprofit (Tax ID: 93-2178166).

Workforce Training Centers

Bioversity runs our eight-week biotech job training programs from our two dedicated lab and classroom training facilities in Massachusetts:

Boston (Dorchester) — Our Boston training center is located in Dorchester and operates in partnership with MCPHS. It serves adults in the Greater Boston area, including residents of Boston, Brockton, Quincy, and surrounding communities.

Lowell, Massachusetts — Our Lowell training center operates in partnership with UMass Lowell and serves adults in the Greater Lowell area, including residents of Lowell, Lawrence, Haverhill, and the Merrimack Valley.

Both facilities offer hands-on lab training alongside classroom instruction, preparing graduates for the physical realities of working in a life sciences environment, supported by individualized job placement support for each student.

Our Workforce Training Programs

Bioversity’s core program, Biotech Career Foundations, is a free, eight-week certificate training program for adults seeking entry-level life sciences employment. No college degree is required. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.

Graduates are prepared for roles in lab operations, supply chain, biomanufacturing, and facilities support — and enter the workforce ready to contribute on day one.
