Bioversity Student Application

Biotech Career Foundations – Apply Today!
Bioversity’s free, eight-week “Biotech Career Foundations” workforce training program prepares unemployed and underemployed adults in Boston and Lowell, Massachusetts for entry-level careers in the life sciences and biotech industry — no college degree required. Classes are 100% in-person, Monday through Thursday, 9:30 AM – 3:30 PM. Our graduates average $27/hour with comprehensive benefits and are hired by life sciences and biotech companies across Massachusetts.
We are currently accepting applications for future 2026 cohorts at both locations:
- Boston (Dorchester): Cohort #4 starts June 15 and Cohort #5 starts August 31
- Lowell: Cohort #2 starts June 29 and Cohort #3 starts September 14
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
Is This Program Right for You?
Bioversity was built for people who are ready for something different — a real career, with real pay, in one of Massachusetts’ most stable and growing industries. Our graduates come from retail, food service, healthcare support, warehousing, customer service, and dozens of other backgrounds. What they share isn’t a résumé — it’s drive.
If you’ve ever been curious about working in a lab or a life sciences facility but assumed it wasn’t accessible to you, this program exists specifically to prove that assumption wrong. We will teach you everything you need to know. No science background required.
You may be a great fit if you:
- Are currently unemployed, underemployed, or stuck in a job with no path forward
- Do not have a four-year college degree, or have a degree in a non-science field
- Have never worked in a lab or life sciences setting — but want to
- Can commit to eight weeks of full-time, in-person training
- Are ready to work hard and start something new
Not sure if you qualify?
Apply anyway. Our admissions team reviews every application individually, and the best way to find out if you’re a fit is to start the process. There’s no cost to apply and no obligation — just a conversation about where you are and where you want to go.
Bioversity’s Training Programs Are Not for Everyone
We are here to train people who have not worked in biotech and do not have a college degree in science or an advanced degree from a U.S. institution in any field. If you hold an advanced degree from another country, we will consider your application on a case-by-case basis.
Bioversity is not a good fit, if you:
- Hold a Bachelor’s in Biology or Chemistry, or hold a Master’s, or doctoral degree in any field from a U.S. institution
- Already have professional experience working in a lab, biotech company, or life sciences role
- Are looking for an advanced or graduate-level training program
Program Requirements
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Have a high school diploma or GED
- Be authorized to work in the United States
- Have strong English language proficiency
- Be able to commit to attending class in-person, Monday through Thursday, 9:30 AM – 3:30 PM for eight full weeks
- Be available to apply for full-time life sciences jobs after graduation
